Ole

Ovonedeljno popodne provela sam u Borči, u poseti kod prijatelja kog nisam dugo videla. Na njegov predlog otišli smo na ručak u jedan od poznatijih lokalnih bar restorana u ovom kraju - Ole. Moram da priznam da čim sam kročila u ovaj restoran, zaljubila sam se u enterijer. Roze i zeleni dvosedi i sive ogromne fotelje koje mame svojom udobnošću, uklopljene uz svetlo drvo podsetile su me na meni omiljene restorane u gradu.

Nažalost, pošto je hladno, baštu nisam uspela uživo da ocenim, ali sudeći po fotografijama sa neta i komentarima mog prijatelja, mogla bih da je ocenim kao izuzetno prijatnu i romantičnu bašticu, idealnu za ispijanje jutarnjih kafica.

Osim što je restoran, Ole je i sportski centar, tako da je epicentar sportskih dešavanja u ovom delu grada, i pravo mesto ukoliko želite na video bimu da propratite neku utakmicu. 

No, Gastro policija se kao i uvek baca na najbitniji deo - Meni. Meni je barskog tipa, što će reći da su zastupljenje paste, rižota, pice, kao i Ole specijaliteti sa mesom, tortilje, deserti, kao i meni doručka. Cene su izuzetno niske, a plus toga imate mogućnost i da naručite po pola porcije ukoliko niste baš gladni. Ovog puta izbor je pao na Pastu sa morskim plodovima (500 rsd), Pesto Đenoveze (510 rsd) i Carsku piletinu (560 rsd).

Moram da priznam da nisam očekivala da će hrana bita ovaaako dobra. Carska piletina je bila savršena (meso je bilo izuzetno sočno, marinada je učinila svoj deo posla kako treba), Pesto Đenoveze takođe je bio ukusan (pene su bile al dente kako ja volim), a Pasta sa morskim plodovima me je dodatno oduševila (očekivala sam jeftinu verziju maxi morskih plodova, ali umesto toga dobila sam izuzetno bogatu  i sočnu porciju). Definitivno sve pohvale za kuvara! Pored toga što su jela bila i više nego ukusna, moram da pohvalim i način serviranja.

Što se tiče pića, moram da napomenem da sam se ozarila kada sam videla na listi točenih piva jedno od mojih omiljenih - Grimbergen! Međutim kada mi je konobarica donela pivo, to definitivno nije bio Grimbergen (jeste bila čaša, ali pivo nije). I da, Grimbergen u pola dana i pola noći mogu da prepoznam što po njegovom specifičnom mirisu, što po ukusu, i nema teoretske šanse da sam omašila. Umesto mog omiljenog piva, u čaši je definitivno bilo neko drugo. Na moj komentar konobarici da to nije Grimbergen, počela je da me ubeđuje da jeste. Ne, definitivno nije! Šanker se očigledno u brzini zbunio (nije mi prvi put da mi se ovo dešava, dešavalo mi se u nekim od najzvučnijih gradskih pabova da umesto ovog piva dobijem točeni Lav), no u svakom slučaju bili su izuzetno fini i doneli mi flaširani Grimbergen ( što je sigurno, sigurno je).

Ekipa ovog bar restorana je naravno lokalnog karaktera. Atmosfera je izuzetno živahna i prijatna. Ovo je definitivno bilo jedno prijatno iskustvo i drago mi je što i po periferiji grada može da se nađe ovako simpatično mesto za ručak. Sve preporuke od mene!

This week's afternoon I spent in Borca, while I was visiting a friend whom I haven’t seen for a long time. At his suggestion we went for lunch at one of the famous local bar restaurants in that area - Ole. I must admit that I fell in love with the interior as soon as I set my foot in this restaurant. Pink and green loveseats and huge gray armchairs allure with its comfort, with addition of light wood, all reminded me of my favorite restaurants in the city center.

Unfortunately, as it was cold outside, I didn’t manage to properly see the garden, but judging by the online photos and comments of my friend, I could say that it’s a very pleasant and romantic little garden, ideal for sipping morning coffee.

In addition to being a restaurant, Ole is also a sports center, so that makes it the epicenter of sports events in this part of the city, and the right place if you want to watch a game on a big screen.


But, as always, Gastro police shoots for the most important thing - the Menu. The menu is a typical menu which you can find in a bar- pastas, risottos, pizzas and Ole specialties with meat, tortillas, desserts, and breakfast menu. Prices are extremely low, plus there is the option of ordering half portions if you’re not really hungry. This time we chose Seafood pasta (500 rsd), Pesto Genovese (510 rsd) and Imperial Chicken (560 rsd).

I have to admit that I didn’t expect the food to be this good. Imperial chicken was perfect (meat was very juicy, the marinade did its job as it supposed to) Pesto Genovese was also tasty (penne were al dente as I like it), and Seafood pasta really impressed me (I expected to get a cheap version of seafood from the local supermarket, but instead I got a very rich and juicy portion). Definitely all the praise to the chef! In addition to the food being more than delicious, I have to commend the way of serving.

As for the drinks, I must mention that I lightened up when I saw one of my favorite beers on the beer list - Grimbergen! However, when the waitress brought me the beer, it definitely wasn’t Grimbergen (its glass yes, but not the beer). And yes, even in the middle of the night, I can recognize Grimbergen both by its specific smell and by its taste, and there is no way that I was wrong. Definitely, instead of my favorite beer, there was another one in the glass. When I said that to the waitress, she began to persuade me that it was Grimbergen. No, it definitely wasn’t! The bartender obviously made a mistake in all that speed (not the first time that this is happening to me, it has happened in some of the most known pubs of the city pubs that instead this beer I get draught Lav beer), but anyways, they were very nice and they brought me bottled Grimbergen beer(better safe than sorry).

The guests of this bar- restaurant are locals, of course. The atmosphere is very lively and pleasant. This was definitely a pleasant experience and I'm glad that you can find such a nice place for lunch in the suburbs of the city. All recommendations from me!

Burger plus

U poslednje vreme smo moja najbolja drugarica i ja često komentarisale kako u Beogradu ne možete da pojedete dobar burger za cenu koja bi bila pristupačna svima, kako je teško naći dobar odnos cene i kvaliteta. Baš u periodu kad smo mislile da se to skoro neće promeniti, bilo nam je izuzetno drago kad smo otkrile Burger plus.

Jedno veče, nakon šopingovanja u Delta city-u predložila sam svojoj drugarici da pojedemo nešto i ona je rekla da bismo mogle da skoknemo do Belvila, jer je čula da tamo ima fast food sa sjajnim burgerima.

 Burger plus predstavlja lanac izuzetno simpatičnih lokalčića, u stilu tipičnih američkih snack barova. Možete da ih posetite na Novom Beogradu, Vračaru, Vidikovcu, Železniku ili Zvezdari, u skladu sa tim gde se nalazite, a ako vam nijedna od ovih lokacija ne odgovara, vrše i dostavu, tako da možete da degustirate njihove obroke i u toplini svog doma.

Prvo što će vam zapasti za oko kad pogledate meni su veoma povoljne cene, da se zapitate da li će vam količinski biti dovoljno. Imate mogućnost da uzmete samo burger, ili obrok. Tako smo se drugarica i ja odlučile za Gurman i Pileći obrok, u kom se pored burgera nalazi i pomfrit i piće po izboru, u našem slučaju coca-cola. To zadovoljstvo koštalo nas je po 290 rsd i to mala porcija od koje ćete, verujte mi dugo biti siti. Ako ste ipak mnogo gladni i ako vam je apetit baš povećan, imate i opciju da uzmete veliki obrok. Uživale smo u svakom zalogaju, jer je meso kvalitetno i sveže, a pomfrit lepo spremljen. Posebno mi je drago što su u pitanju domaći proizvodi, što potvrđuje da i u Srbiji može nešto kvalitetno da funkcioniše, ako postoje uslovi za rad. Kao MC Donald's, ali bolje, tako bih na najjednostavniji način opisala Burger plus.

Bile smo i u onom u Kralja Milana i tamo smo probale Klasik i Onion obrok, koji nisu izneverili naša očekivanja. Pored burgera, ovde možete da pojedete i krilca i sladoled, koje još uvek nismo probale, ali verujemo da ništa ne zaostaju za burgerima.

 Poseban deo moram da posvetim osoblju. Kad smo bile u Belvilu videle smo da je velika gužva, što zbog gostiju, što zbog toga što su neprekidno zvonili telefoni radi dostave i bilo nam je jasno da ćemo malo čekati, što je u redu. Platila sam, devojka za kasom mi je rekla da sednem i da će me pozvati kad bude gotovo. Prošlo je više od pola sata, u lokalu smo ostale samo moja drugarica i ja, neki što su došli posle nas dobili su hranu pre nas. Išla sam logikom da su verovatno naručili telefonom i zato su dobili veoma brzo po dolasku. Taman kad sam se spremila da pitam o čemu je reč devojka za kasom me je pitala šta beše čekamo i ponovila sam joj našu porudžbinu. Rekla je kako su zaboravili da spreme jer se negde zagubio broj, na šta sam joj ja odgovorila kako čekamo više od pola sata a njen odgovor na to bilo je, drsko: ''j....ga''! Malo je reći da sam bila šokirana! Kao prvo, kakvo je to ponašanje?! Kao drugo, ja izgledam dosta mlađe za svoje godine, ali ja sam 30-ogodišnjakinja koja se tako nije ponašala ni sa 20, koliko ta devojka verovatno ima godina, znači nema ni elementarno vaspitanje. Samo sam se zapitala na šta bi ličilo da meni tako dođe pacijent u ordinaciju, da mu propišem lek koji mu je potreban i ja da mu kažem da nema tog leka uz komentar ''j....ga''! U ovom lokalu u Belvilu za osoblje 1 od mene.
Što se tiče Burger plusa u Kralja Milana, tamo bih osoblje nazvala pogubljenim. Prvi put kad smo bile tamo devojka koja radi nam je, dok smo se tek spremale da krenemo, odnela tacnu i u toj brzini nismo videle da nam je bacila bedž Gastro policije. Drugi put, druga devojka nam je umesto obroka donela samo burgere, ali je odmah ispravila grešku, kad smo joj rekle, naravno.

Za hranu čista 5-ica, sa iskrenim željama da se osoblje malo dovede u red. Ako želite ukusnu, pravu hranu koja će vas zasititi, nema dvoumljenja da li ovde da jedete.

Lately, my best friend and I often commented that, in Belgrade, you can’t find a good burger for a reasonable price, and how hard it is to find a good price-quality ratio. Just at the time when we thought that this won’t change soon, we were very pleased when we discovered Burger plus.

One evening, after our shopping spree in Delta city, I suggested that we get something to eat and my friend said that we could go to Belville, because she heard that there is this fast food bar with great burgers.

Burger Plus represents a chain of very nice little bars, resembling the typical American snack bars. You can visit them in New Belgrade, Vracar, Vidikovac, Zeleznik or Zvezdara, depending on where you are, and if any of these locations isn’t working for you there is also the option of delivery , so you can enjoy their meals in the comfort of your own home.

The first thing that will catch your eye when you look at the menu are the very reasonable prices and it makes you wonder whether it will be enough in quantity. You have the option to order only a burger, or a meal. So my friend and I decided to order Gurman(Gourmand) and Chicken burger meal, in that meal, next to the burgers, you get fries and a drink of your choice, in our case Coca-cola. This satisfaction cost us 290 rsd each, and it was a small meal version, and believe me, your stomach will be full for a while after eating this. In case you are really hungry or have a big  appetite, you have the option to order a large meal. We enjoyed every bite, because the meat was good and fresh, and the fries very tasty. I’m particularly pleased that they use local products, which confirms that in Serbia something can function well, if the working conditions are good. Like McDonald's, but better, that would be the simplest way to describe Burger plus.

We also visited Burger plus in the King Milan Street and there we tried Classic and Onion burger meal, which also met our expectations. Besides burgers, here you can eat chicken wings and ice cream, which we haven’t tried yet, but we believe that these are as good as the burgers.

A special part I have to dedicate to the staff. When we were in Belville, there was a big line, due to the fact that there was a lot of guests and because the phones for the delivery were constantly ringing, and it was clear to us that we would wait a little, which was ok. I paid, the girl behind the counter told me to take a seat and that she would call me when the food is done. More than half an hour had passed, we remained the only guests in the bar, some people who came after us were given food before us. I thought that they probably ordered by phone, so they got their food very quickly upon arrival. Just when I got ready to ask what’s going on, the girl behind the counter asked me what we were waiting for and I repeated our order to her. She said that they forgot to prepare our food because the order number has been misplaced somewhere, to which I replied that we are waiting for more than half an hour, and she just rudely said : '' F.... it '! I was shocked! Firstly, what kind of attitude is that ?! Secondly, I look quite young for my age, but I'm a 30 year-old, I didn’t act like that even when i was 20, so the mother of that girl probably didn’t tech her any manners. I just wondered what it would look like if a patient comes to the clinic, where I work as a doctor, and he needs a presription for his medicine and I just tell him that we don’t have it anymore, and I just say '' f .... it '! A big minus for the staff in Belville.
As for the Burger plus in King Milan Street, I think the staff there is a bit confused. The first time we were there, the girl who works there, as we were preparing to leave, she took our tray away and in all that speed we didn’t see that she threw our Gastro police badge. The second time, another girl brought us only burgers instead meals, but she immediately corrected the mistake, when we told her, of course.

For the food I give them an A, with sincere wishes that the staff adjust themselves. If you want a delicious, real food that will fill you up, there's no doubt whether to eat here or not.

Ottimo

Ottimo restoran nalazi se u mom komšiluku (opština Stari grad), tako da sam par puta bila njihov gost i moram da priznam da nijedan put nisam nešto bila preterano zadovoljna. Od skoro sam primetila da su ponovo postali aktivni na društvenim mrežama pa sam se zapitala da se nije nešto promenilo i rešila sam da oprobam treću sreću.

Ottimo će vas svojim spoljašnjim izgledom definitivno privući makar da zavirite u restoran i zaista će vam se na prvu loptu učiniti kao sladak, mali i ušuškan italijanski restoran. Enterijer je pomešanog stila, tako da u jednom delu restoran čak vuče na neki moderniji stil sa toplim bojama drveta, dok u drugom delu restorana preovladava striktno stilski nameštaj, gobleni i figure koje prate ovaj stil. Gastro policija se odlučila da ručak provede u drugom delu.

Nakon što smo se smestile za sto, pogled mi je odmah pao na uglove ovog restorana koji su bili prepuni prašine i paučine. E sad da ne cepidlačim, moguće da su želeli da gosti imaju potpuni ugođaj, pa pored stilskog nameštaja da biste osetili neka starija vremena, mora da bude prisutna i paučina. Moram da priznam da sam se istog trenutka zapitala da li i kuhinja prati ovaj stil.

Nakon nekoliko minuta užurbani konobar nam je doneo meni i imate utisak kao da jedva čeka da vas usluži da biste što pre otišli kući. Skoro da sam ga jurila da mu kažem šta ću da popijem uz paste. Što se samog menija tiče, striktno je italijanski (bar što se tiče naziva jela), s tim što mi je odmah zapalo za oko da npr. pastu karbonare spremaju sa pavlakom (italijanski, nema šta). U zimskim mesecima imaju akciju pod nazivom - Dani paste - tako da paste umesto za 700 rsd možete da naručite za 350 rsd, tako da je Gastro policija iskoristila ovu priliku i naručila Lingvini Putaneska (310 rsd) i Taljatele sa pršutom i sušenim paradajzom (340 rsd). Za aperitiv smo se odlučile za Martini (185 rsd).

U ovom restoranu duže čekate meni nego što čekate da vam donesu hranu. Nakon 5 minuta bez preterivanja, konobar nam je doneo hranu, tako da odmah možete da zaključite kakvo je stanje stvari. Pa da počnem! Za početak oba tanjira su bila oštećena (da ne kažem - čvrknuta), kao i čaša u kojoj sam dobila martini (bila je polomljena, plus što sam martini dobila u običnoj čaši umesto u čaši za martini i plus što nisu imali leda), tako da što se tiče serviranja - ocena nula! A ne bi bilo loše i kada bi se neko setio da opere stolnjake u ovom restoranu. Što se tiče prvog pogleda na jela, toliko je očigledno da su jela spremljena ranije i samo podgrejana u mikrotalasnoj (kuvar se čak nije ni potrudo da pastu lepo raširi po tanjiru, nego je bukvalno bila još u komadu kako je podgrejana). Ukus kao ukus i nije bio toliko loš ako se uzme u obzir da je cena pasti sa popustom oko 300 rsd, sve iznad te cene bi bilo previše za ovo jelo. Koliko sam mogla da pročitam ove paste su domaća radinost, u šta jako teško mogu da poverujem. Paste su se bukvalno pušile od toplote kada smo ih dobile, a kada smo ih malo raširile po tanjiru one ispod su bile hladne (još jedan dokaz za korišćenje mikrotalasne). Jedina dobra stvar je što sam u pasti zaista dobila i sušeni paradajz, a ne sveži kao što mi se dešavalo po restoranima. Ovde bar dobijete ono što piše, e sad kako je to spremljeno to očigledno nikog ovde ne zanima.

Što se tiče gostiju koji ovde dolaze, jedan sto je bio rezervisan (gosti se nisu pojavili), a za susednim stolom je bio jedan mlađi par sa vaučerom za večeru, tako da zaista ne mogu da procenim ko i da li iko dolazi ovde. Po brzini kojom pripremaju jelo, rekla bih da su prepuni i da jedva mogu glavu da dignu od posla, ali realnost je sasvim drugačija. Kuvar kojeg mrzi da sprema svežu pastu, i konobar koji se nije udostojio ni da nas pita nakon jela da li je sve bilo u redu, nego je samo pokupio tanjire, doneo račun koji nakon što smo platile nismo ni bile upitane da li je u redu, već je sam zaključio da je dobio napojnicu i da ne treba da vraća kusur.

Tako da ukoliko želite da u ovakvim uslovima uživate u kvazi italijanskoj kuhinji, moja preporuka vam je ovaj restoran. Ovde se očigledno nikada ništa neće promeniti, tako da četvrti put definitivno neću doći. A umesto što je menadžer ovog restorana glavni akcenat stavio na kačenje (zasita savršenih) slika na fejs i instagram, možda bi bilo pametnije da baci pogled u kuhinju svog restorana, ukoliko želi da mu se neki gost ovde vrati i da preporuči ovo mesto svojim prijateljima.

The restaurant Ottimo is located in my neighborhood (Municipality Stari grad), so I was their guest a couple of times and I have to admit that each time I haven’t been really pleased. Lately, I’ve noticed that once again they became active on social media, so I wondered if something has changed and I decided to try my luck for a third time.

Ottimo will definitely catch your eye with its exterior, at least it’ll make you just to take a peek at the restaurant and indeed, at first sight it will seem like a cute, small and tucked away Italian restaurant.The interior is mixed in styles, so in one part of the restaurant there’s this modern style with warm wood colors, while in the other part the restaurant is filled with the antique furniture, tapestries and ornaments that accompany this style. Gastro police had decided to spend the lunch in the second part.

After we settled, my eyes immediately caught the corners of the restaurants, which were full of dust and cobwebs. But, not to nag about it, it’s possible that they want to offer their guests the perfect atmosphere, and to be able to feel that you’re in  the older times, in addition to antique furniture there must be some cobwebs as well. I must admit that I immediately wondered if the kitchen is the same.

A few minutes later, the hasty waiter brought us the menus and you have the impression that he can not wait to serve you so you can leave as soon as possible. I almost had to chase him in order to tell him which drinks we want with our pastas. As for the menu, it’s strictly Italian (at least as far as the names of the dishes), but what immediately caught my eye is that they prepare the pasta carbonara with cooking cream (Italian, yeah right). During winter, they have the offer called – Pasta days - so instead  700 rsd, you can order for 350 rsd, so Gastro police used this opportunity and we ordered Linguine Puttanesca (310 rsd) and Tagliatelle with prosciutto and dried tomatoes (340 rsd). For an aperitif, we ordered Martini (185 RSD).


In this restaurant, you wait for the menu longer than you wait for your food. After 5 minutes, without exaggeration, the waiter brought us our food, so you can immediately get what is the deal there. Let’s begin! For starters, both plates were chipped, as well was the glass in which I got my martini (it was broken, plus I got the martini in an ordinary glass instead of martini glass and plus they had no ice), so as far as for the serving – big fail! And it wouldn’t hurt if someone remembered to wash the tablecloths at this restaurant. My first impression of the food- it was so obvious that the dishes were prepared earlier and they were just reheated in the microwave (the cook didn’t even make an effort to spread the pasta nicely on the plate, instead it was literally still in one big piece). Taste wasn’t so bad if you take into account that the prices of pastas are around 300 rsd including the discount, anything above this price would be too much for this dish. I read that these pastas are made fresh, but I hardly believe it. When we got our pastas there was steam rising from them, but when we spread them a little, they were cold in the middle (another proof of the use of the microwave). The only good thing is that in my pasta I got some dried tomatoes, not fresh, like it happened in some other restaurants. At least here you get what it says on the menu, but obviously no one cares how to make it properly.

As for the guests who come here, one table was reserved (but those guests didn’t show up), and at the next table, there was a young couple with a voucher for dinner, so I really can’t estimate when and if anyone comes here. Judging by the speed the dishes leave the kitchen, I would say that they are full and that they can barely pick up the pace, but the reality is quite different. The cook who is bothered to make fresh pasta, and the waiter who didn’t even ask us if everything was all right with our meal, instead, he only picked up the plates, gave us the bill and after we paid, without saying a word to us, he decided that there’s no need to return the change, so he basically tipped himself.

So if you want to enjoy in the conditions of the so-called Italian cuisine, I recommend you this restaurant. It’s obvious that nothing will ever change here, so I definitely won’t visit them for the fourth time. And it might be better for the manager of this restaurant to take a look into their kitchen, instead on focusing on posting the photos( which actually look perfect) on social media , if he wants for their guests to come back and recommend this place to their friends .

Patlidžan

Gastro policija je opet odlučila da ode u deo grada koji je poznat po odličnim restoranima, a da ne bi ispalo da moja najbolja drugarica previše potencira na svom vračarskom lokal-patriotizmu, ovaj put sam ja preuzela na sebe i da biram mesto i da pišem o njemu. Ovaj put posetile smo Patlidžan.

Patlidžan je, kao i većina restorana na ovoj opštini, ušuškan u maloj ulici i mami svojim simpatičnim logoom u vidu veselog patlidžana i ne preterano velikim prostorom.

Modernog dizajna, u kom preovladava ljubičasta boja, inače jedna od mojih omiljenih, sa ispisanim plafonom, ovaj restoran odiše toplinom i gostoprimstvom i već sam pogled na enterijer će učiniti da se osećate prijatno.

Kad smo se smestile u udobne fotelje, pored prozora, pažljivo smo pregledale meni, koji je neobičan, sa veoma originalnim spojevima. Dok smo razmišljale za koji specijalitet da se odlučimo, naručile smo po čašu našeg omiljenog vina Život teče, vinarija Zvonko Bogdan (370 rsd). Posle 10-ominutnog dvoumljenja, ja sam se odlučila za Pileće grudi špikovane jabukom u sosu od pistaća, pomorandže i kajsija (850 rsd), a drugarica za Svinjski file sa suvim šljivama i mocarelom u krem sosu od badema i žalfije (890 rsd). Pre glavnog jela bio nam je poslužen Kuver (80 rsd) koji se sastoji od sjajnih, toplih lepinjica, projica sa paprikom i krem sosom sa belim lukom. Jedan od boljih kuvera koje sam jela i nadala sam se da oduševljenje neće ništa biti manje za glavno jelo. I nisam se prevarila. Moje jelo se pokazalo kao sjajan spoj ukusa, piletina je bila u sjajnoj harmoniji sa navedenim sosom i jabukom, a doza ljutine bila je baš onaj ''tajni začin'' koji nazivaju malom tajnom velikih majstora. Krompir kao prilog je odlično išao uz ovaj spoj ukusa. Utisci moje drugarice nisu bili ništa manje pozitivni, pored sjajnog spoja filea i suvih šljiva, bila je i više nego oduševljena kroketom od krompira koji je bio serviran uz njeno jelo. Ukus kroketa upotpunila je hrskava slanina i mocarela, koja se nalazila u njemu.

Što se tiče cena, primetila sam da su niže u odnosu na restorane u okolini Vračara, tj. odnos cena-kvalitet je i više nego korektan. Osoblje je izuzetno ljubazno i na svaki način će gledati da vam izađe u susret. Primera radi, za stolom blizu našeg bio je par sa detetom, dečakom oko 5 godina i ljubazna konobarica je ponudila dečaku da mu donese bojice i bojanku, tako da ko dolazi sa decom, da zna da ima zanimacije i za njih. Ekipa je, kad smo mi bile, bila pretežno između 30-40 godina, ali verujem da i mlađi i stariji rado biraju ovaj restoran.

Za kraj mogu samo da zaključim da je lokal-patriotizam moje drugarice skroz opravdan, bar kad su vračarski restorani u pitanju.

And again, Gastro police decided to visit the part of the city that is known for its excellent restaurants, and not to turn out that my best friend emphasizes her local-patriotism (Vracar), this time I took it upon myself both to choose the restaurant and to write about it. This time we visited Patlidzan.


Like most restaurants in this municipality, Patlidzan is tucked away in a small street , it allures with its charming logo in the form of a playful eggplant, and with its not overly large space.

Modernly designed, with color purple predominanting, one of my favorites btw, with the decorated ceiling, this restaurant shows warmth and hospitality, even after taking one look at the interior, it will make you feel comfortable.

When we settled into the comfortable armchairs, by the window, we carefully looked at the menu, which is unusual, with a very original compounds. While we were thinking about which speciality to order, we ordered a glass of our favorite wine Zivot tece, winery Zvonko Bogdan (370 RSD). After 10 minutes of deciding, I ordered Chicken breast lightly stuffed with crispy apples served in a pistachio, orange and apricot jam sauce (850 RSD), and my friend Pork fillet with prunes and mozzarella in an almond and sage cream sauce (890 RSD). Before the main course they served us the Cover charge (80 RSD), which consists of great, warm buns, corn bread muffins with bell pepper and garlic cream sauce. One of the better cover charges that I had and I was hoping that enthusiasm won’t be less for the main course. And I wasn’t wrong. My dish turned out to be a great blend of flavors, the chicken was in perfect harmony with the above mentioned sauce and apples,and a little dose of spiciness was like the ''secret spice'', the small secrets of the great chefs. Potatoes as a side dish went along great with this blend of flavors. Impressions of my friends were no less positive, in addition to the great combination of fillet and prunes, she was more than delighted with potato croquette that was served with her dish. The taste of that croquette was complemented by the crispy bacon and mozzarella, which was in it.

As for the prices, I noticed that they are lower compared to the restaurants around Vracar, ie. the price-quality ratio is more than fair. The staff is extremely friendly and they wil try to meet your demands. For example, the table was close to ours there was a couple with a child, a boy about 5 years old, and the kind waitress offered the boy to bring him some crayons and a coloring book, so when you come with children, know that there are some fun activities for them. During our visit, the guests were mostly people between 30-40 years, but I believe that both younger and older generation gladly choose this restaurant.

All in all, I can only conclude that the local patriotism of my friend is totally justified, at least when it comes to the restaurants in Vracar Municipality.
