Čarda na Tisi - Novi Bečej

Odavno je poznato da su članovi Gastro policije ljubitelji Vojvodine, pa ćemo vam preneti utiske iz još jednog restorana ove regije. Danas vam prepričavamo novobečejske avanture iz Čarde na Tisi.

Kada me je drugarica pitala da idemo na Velikogospojinske dane u Novi Bečej, koji se održavaju svake godine krajem avgusta, prihvatila sam voljno, ali iskrena da budem, nisam očekivala toliko pozitivnih utisaka. Ovaj grad u tim danima bukvalno živne i slobodno mogu da kažem da se po atmosferi ništa ne razlikuje od Beograda - gomila ljudi, svirke po ceo dan, uveče koncerti, moj neki utisak je kao da sam bila na Beer fest-u.

Sve to zvuči sjajno, ali bez dobre hrane sve to ne bi imalo toliko smisla. Po preporuci poznanika Novobečejaca, otišli smo na ručak u Čardu na Tisi.

Imali smo sreće da smo uopšte našli mesto, jer je bilo prepuno. Prijatna bašta, restoran u vojvođanskom stilu, drveni stolovi i klupe.

Meni je nacionalnog karaktera, sa pretežnom ponudom roštilja. Nismo se mnogo dvoumile i naručile smo Pileću ragu čorbu, Porciju od 10 ćevapa sa pomfritom i Šopsku salatu. Pre nego što napišem o hrani, osvrnula bih se malo na uslugu. Pored toga što smo dugo čekale da budemo uslužene (što, donekle, jeste razumljivo, s obzirom na gužvu), ne mogu da kažem da sam zadovoljna kako se ophode prema gostima. Kad nam je konobar doneo escajg i tanjire bili su mokri. Razumem da su prezauzeti, ali mislim da nikako nije u redu da dobijamo mokro posuđe. Na stolnjaku su bile mrve od prethodnih gostiju, a bio je i na nekoliko mesta pocepan, opušcima od cigareta.

Što se tiče hrane, tu su utisci veoma dobri. Pileća čorba je jedna od boljih koju sam jela i svakom bih je preporučila. Ćevapi su isto zadovoljili naša očekivanja i smatram da su jedni od boljih koje sam jela.

It has long been known that the members of Gastro Police like Vojvodina a lot, so here are the impressions from another restaurant in this region. Today we are recalling the adventures from Čarda na Tisi, Novi Bečej.

When a friend of mine asked me to go to the Dormition Days, held yearly in Novi Bečej at the end of August, I accepted it willingly, but honestly, I did not expect to have so many positive impressions. This city literally livens up during those days and I can freely say that the atmosphere is no different than in Belgrade -a bunch of people, gigs all day long, evening concerts, I felt like I was at Beer Fest.

All of that sounds great, but without good food it would not make much sense. On the recommendation of our friends from Novi Bečej, we had lunch at the Čarda na Tisi.

We were fortunate to even find a table, because it was full. Pleasant garden, the restaurant in Vojvodina style, wooden tables and benches.

The menu is of a national character, the offer consists mostly of grilled dishes. It didn’t take us long to decide, we ordered Chicken ragout soup, a portion of 10 kebabs with French fries and Shopska salad. Before I write about food, a few words about the service. Beside the fact that we waited for a long time to be served (which, to some extent, is understandable, since it was crowded), I can’t say that I am satisfied with the way they treat their guests. When the waiter brought us cutlery and plates, they were wet. I understand that they are too busy, but I don’t think it's okay to get wet dishes. There were crumbs on the tablecloth from the previous guests, and there were also a few cigarette burns holes on it.

As far as food is concerned, our impressions are very good. Chicken soup is one of the better ones I've eaten and I would recommend it to anyone. Kebabs have satisfied our expectations as well, and I can say that they are also among the better ones I have eaten.

Prices are the same as in most restaurants in Belgrade, average.

If you like Vojvodina and if you have a chance, visit Novi Bečej at the time of the Dormition Days, you won’t be disappointed, you’ll probably visit Čarda na Tisi at some point as well, so share your impressions with us.

Godo

Miholjsko leto valja iskoristiti. A ja sam ovog puta rešila da prošetam po Savskom keju sa svojom dragom drugaricom i da sočne tračeve razmenimo na jednom splavu u ovom kraju. U pitanju je Godo.

Splav je modernog dizajna, i moram da priznam da sam ga zaobilazila jedno duže vreme baš zbog toga što sam mislila da je jedno od onih pozerskih mesta (koja ne podnosim), ali prevarila sam se i te kako. Kada smo se smestile na terasu sa predivnim pogledom na Savu shvatila sam da je ovo izuzetno opušteno mesto za nedeljni ručak (kakvo je stanje uveče, zaista ne znam). 

Konobara smo doduše maaalo duže čekale, na kraju čak i dozivale, ali dobro, ajde da ne cepidlačim i ja. Bitno da je došao i da nas je uslužio, a to da li je bio brz i šarmantan sam će proceniti na osnovu bakšiša, pa će se sledeći put potruditi više pretpostavljam. 

Meni je vrlo zanimljiv, sa nezaobilaznom ponudom za doručak, a ono što je zanimljivo su dnevne ponude ovog splava, pa tako za 400-500 rsd možete da ručate. Ponuda dana je različita svakog dana u nedelji, a na sajtu ovog splava možete malo više da se infotmišete o tome. Pošto je bio vikend, nas su dnevne ponude zaobišle te je naš izbor ovog puta pao na Mediteranski mix sa piletinom (595 rsd) i Saltimbocca bianca sa grilovanim povrćem (790 rsd). Ukus piletine u oba jela je bio sjajan, a osim ukusa bilo je i vrlo lepo i originalno servirano. Povrće je bilo takođe vrlo ukusno, i dobro začinjeno.

A s obzirom da smo bile vrlo zadovoljne glavnim jelom odlučile smo da naručimo i desert da vidimo da li su i na tom polju sjajni. Drugarica koja je ogromni fan palačinki odlučila se za Tiramisu palačinku (285 rsd), a ja sam naručila Crno beli mus od čokolade (265 rsd). Kada su nam doneli deserte, palačinka je na obe ostavila isti utisak - VAU - zaista originalno servirano i spremljeno. A što je najbitnije bila je i VAU ukusa. Mus je bio dobar, ali ne baš za visoku ocenu. Video se trud, ali jednostavno to nije bilo to.

Ukoliko ste ljubitelj sedenja pored reke u popodnevnim satima, Godo će vas definitvno kupiti. Uz veoma bogatu kartu pića i jelovnik sigurno ćete pronaći nešto po svom ukusu, kao što smo i mi.

One should make the most out of Indian summer. And this time, I decided to take a walk with my dear friend, along the Sava quay and exchange juicy gossips on one of the raft restaurants in this area. The raft restaurant Godo.

It’s modernly designed, and I must admit that I avoided it for a long time, just because I thought it was one of those places filled with poseurs (and I can’t stand those kind of places), but I was very wrong. When we took our seats on the terrace with a beautiful view of the Sava river, I realized that this is a very cozy place for a Sunday lunch (I really can’t tell what it’s like in the evening).

However, we waited a little longer for the waiter to come, eventually we ended up calling him by ourselves, but well, let's not quibble over minor details. It's important that he served us, and whether he was fast and charming, he can evaluate according to his tip, so I guess the next time he will try harder.

The menu is very interesting, with the inevitable breakfast offer, and what is even more interesting are the daily offers, so you can have lunch for 400-500 rsd. The daily offer is different each day of the week, and you can get more info about it on the website of this restaurant. Since it was weekend, we missed the daily offer, so our choices were the Mediterranean mix with chicken (595 rsd) and Saltimbocca bianca with grilled vegetables (790 rsd). The taste of the chicken in both dishes was great, and apart from the taste, it was also very nicely and originally served. The vegetables were also very tasty and well seasoned.

And since we were very satisfied with the main dish, we decided to order  desserts to see if they make those just as good. My friend, who is a big fan of crepes, chose Tiramisu crepe (285 rsd), and I ordered Dark and white chocolate mousse (265 rsd). When they served us desserts, the crepe left the same impression on both of us - WOW - really originally served and prepared. And what's most important, the taste of the crepe was also WOW. Mousse was ok, but not really for a high score. You could see someone’s effort to make it good, but, it just wasn’t enough.

If you are a fan of sitting by the river in the afternoon, you’ll definitely like Godo. You’ll surely find something that suits your taste in their rich menu and drink list, just like we did.

Željo - Sarajevo

Sarajevo! Divan grad, pun istorijskih znamenistosti, balkanski Jerusalim! Kada obilazite jedan takav grad logično je da na kraju, dok sumirate utiske, želite to da uradite uz dobar obrok, da glava bude puna utisaka, a stomak ukusne hrane. Šta bi nam drugo palo na pamet da pojedemo, nego čuvene sarajevske ćevape!

Logično, mesto gde smo odlučile da probamo ovaj specijalitet, bila je Baščaršija. Pre toga smo se raspitale kod nekoliko prijatelja koji su već bili ovde, gde su najbolji ćevapi u Sarajevu. Svi su odgovorili isto - da posetimo ćevabdžinicu ''Željo'', što smo i uradile.

ćevabdžinice. Kako je bio topao dan, a Baščaršija prepuna ljudi, sele smo u
''Željo 2''.

S obzirom na vrelinu, svi gosti su sedeli napolju i gužva je bila zaista velika. Ovde se jede po principu fast food-a, jedeš, ideš, jer dok jedete, gomila ljudi sa nestrpljenjem stoji i gleda kad ćete ustati, kako bi oni došli na red za obrok. Naravno, ne sedite sami za stolom, već koliko ima mesta, toliko će ljudi sesti, jer su u pitanju drveni stolovi sa drvenim klupama. Mi smo nekako uspele da ugrabimo mesto, ali smo konobara teško dozvale, jer je bio prezauzet, osećale smo se bukvalno kao da smo na pokretnoj traci. Kad je konobar konačno prišao, naručile smo po pet ćevapa (2.5 km - 150 rsd) sa kajmakom (1.5 km - 90 rsd). Bez obzira što je ovo bio obrok na brzaka, i moja drugarica i ja smo uživale u njemu, u lepom, ukusnom i svežem mesu, ali moram priznati, da iste takve ćevape možete naći i u Beogradu, na retkim mestima, ali je moguće. Tako da mi je drago da i Beograd i dalje može da se ponosi originalnim ukusima, da nije sve izveštačeno, kako većina ljudi priča.

Što se jelovnika tiče, ovde možete da poručite ćevape, pljeskavicu i sudžuk i to je ceo jelovnik, strogo se drže specijaliteta po kojima su poznati. Cene su i više nego pristojne, čak i za nijansu niže u odnosu na Beograd.

Sarajevo svakako treba da posetite, a nećete pogrešiti ni ako posetite ovu čuvenu ćevabdžinicu.

Sarajevo! A beautiful city, full of historical landmarks, like Balkan Jerusalem! While visiting such city, it is logical that in the end of the visit, while summarizing the impressions, you do it while enjoying a good meal, with your mind full of impressions, and your stomach full of delicious food. What else should we eat than the famous Sarajevo kebabs!

Of course, the area where we decided to try this specialty was Baščaršija. Before that, we spoke to several friends who were already here, about where to find the best kebabs in Sarajevo. Everyone answered the same - to visit the "Željo" kebab restaurant, which we did.

"Željo" definitely has a good reputation, given that they have two restaurants in Baščaršija. Since it was warm outside, and Baščaršija was crowded, we found a table in "Željo 2".

Given that it was a hot day, all the guests were sitting outside and it was really crowded. This resembles a fast food restaurant, when you finish your meal, you leave, because while you eat, a bunch of people eagerly awaits and looks when will you leave the table, so that they can take a seat. Since the tables are with benches, you’re not sitting alone, you share the table if there’s room for more people. We somehow managed to find a seat, but we had trouble with calling the waiter, because he was too busy, we literally felt like we were on an assembly line. When the waiter finally approached us, we ordered five kebabs (2.5 km - 150 rsd) with kajmak (1.5 km - 90 rsd). Regardless the fact that this was a fast meal, my friend and I enjoyed this beautiful, delicious and fresh meat, but I must admit that you can find the same kind of kebabs in Belgrade, too, not in every restaurant, but it’s possible in some. So I’m glad that Belgrade can still be proud of the original tastes of certain food, it’s not that bad like some people are claiming.

Considering the menu, here you can order kebabs, burgers and sujuk sausage, and that’s it, they strictly offer their famous specialties. The prices are more than fair, even a bit lower than the ones in Belgrade.

You should definitely visit Sarajevo, and you won’t regret if you visit this famous kebab restaurant, too.

Credo - Jesenji meni

Prošle godine Gastro policija vas je upoznala sa konceptom rada hotelskog restorana Credo koji se nalazi u srcu Beograda, u blizini Trga Republike. Početak jeseni i dolazak novog šefa kuhinje doneo je mnogobrojne izmene u jelovnik ovog restorana. 

Za vas smo u ovom postu pripremili mnogobrojne fotografije jela iz novog menija (uglavnom u tapas verziji te nemojte da se uplašite kada vidite mini porcije). Što se tiče cena koje budu navedene pored naziva jela, one odgovaraju standardnoj veličini porciji. Pa da počnemo otpočetka!

HLADNA PREDJELA
  • Salata sa mariniranom pačetinom i indijskim orahom (1200 RSD)

  • Marinirani losos u soku od krastavca, sa renom i kozijim sirom (1100 RSD)

Jela iz ove grupe su blažeg, neutralnijeg ukusa i moj favorit je definitivno Krem od guščije džigerice sa lešnikom i narom. Mislim da je definitivno eksplozija nara u mojim ustima donela sud u korist ovog predjela, jer sam ja ipak fan nekih malo jačih ukusa.

  • Čorba od paradajza sa kukuruzom i grilovanom hobotnicom (650 RSD)

  • Pileći konsome sa tortelinama sa orahom i šargarepom (450 RSD)

Što se tiče ove grupe jela, ovde je izbor za favorita mnooogo teži u odnosu na prvu grupu. Svako jelo nosi svoj pečat ukusa, fenomenalno je začinjeno i svako je servirano u originalnim posudama (a sećate se da je to moja slaba tačka). Ipak ako bih morala da odaberem jedno prelomila bih u korist Krem supe od pečenog celera sa karamelizovanim orahom, jer je definitvno nešto novo i potpuno drugačije od svih toplih predjela koja sam imala priliku da probam do sada.

  • Gnudi sa sremskim sirom i pečurkama (900 RSD)

  • Taljatele sa pilećim batakom, pestom od rukole i mariniranom paprikom (850 RSD)

  • Torteline sa celerom i sremskim sirom, orasima i kremom od aćeto balsamica (700 RSD)

Veliki sam obožavatelj jela od testa, i mislim da bih mogla da živim na ovim jelima (da, znam, koliko je to nezdravo, ali imam tu ludačku sreću da se od testa ne gojim, pa što da ne iskoristim to dok mi metobalizam radi ludačkom brzinom). Od ovih jela NAJJAČI UTISAK (velikim slovima!) ostavilo je jelo Gnudi sa sremskim sirom i pečurkama. Gnudi je specijalitet koji je toliko jednostavan (priprema se od sira koji se uvalja u testo i baci u tiganj), a toliko sjajnog ukusa, te definitivno ukoliko se nađete u ovom restoranu, naručite ovo jelo, i shvatićete o čemu vam pričam!

  • Svinjska rebra kuvana u misu sa kremom od slatkog krompira i slanim kikirikijem (1200 RSD)

Jela su punog i definisanog ukusa, spremljena sa dosta ljubavi i strpljenja. A kada smo već kod strpljenja onda će pobednik u ovoj grupi jela definitivno biti Ribeye za 2 osobe, sa holandez sosom i tartufima / sa šargarepom. Meso odležano 40 dana (!!!) i nakon toga pripremljeno sa aromatičnim biljem i povrh svega toga posluženo sa dve vrste sosa zaista zaslužuje ne samo prvo mesto u grupi - Jela od mesa, već je i pobednik celog novog menija restorana Credo!!

Kao što sam i prošle godine napisala da nisam neki fan slatkiša, dolaskom u Credo postanem najveći sladokusac. Za nijansu prednost dajem Credo kolaču od sira sa malinama i ružom. Ovo je ona vrsta deserta koja vas zasladi ali i osveži istovremeno. Baš po mom ukusu!

I za kraj posta - sve pohvale za osoblje restorana koje je i dalje preljubazno, a naročite pohvale za novog šefa kuhinje! Uspeo je da donese nešto sasvim novo na gastro scenu Beograda i hvala mu na tome!!

Last year, Gastro police introduced you to the concept of work of the hotel restaurant Credo, located in the heart of Belgrade, near the Republic Square. Beginning of the fall and the arrival of their new chef, brought a number of changes to the menu of this restaurant.


In this post, we prepared many photos of the dishes from the new menu (mostly tasting menu portions, so don’t be afraid when you the sizes). The prices listed next to the name of the dish correspond to the standard size of the portion. So let's start!


COLD APPETIZERS

  • Salad with marinated duck breast and cashew nut (1200 RSD)

  • Marinated salmon, goat cheese, cucumber and horseradish cream (1100 RSD)

  • Foie gras creme with hazelnut and pomegranate (1200 RSD)

  • Quinoa salad with yoghurt and berries (750 RSD)

The flavors of the dishes from this group are mild, more neutral and my favorite is definitely Foie gras creme with hazelnut and pomegranate. I think the explosion of the pomegranate in my mouth decided in favor of this dish, because I’m a fan of a bit stronger tastes.

WARM APPETIZERS
  • Tomato soup with sweetcorn and grilled octopus (650 RSD)

  • Squid in brown butter with mussel sauce and pickeled leeks (1300 RSD)

As for this group of dishes, choosing the favorite was much harder than in the first group. Every dish carries its own taste signature, beautifully seasoned and each is served in original dishware (remember, this is my weakness). However, if I had to choose one, it would be the Creamy celery soup with caramelized walnuts, because it’s definitely something new and completely different from all the warm appetizers I have ever tried.

PASTA DISHES
  • Dumplings with mushrooms, cheese and Serbian truffles (900 RSD)

  • Pappardelle with rucola pesto, chicken drumstick and marinated peppers (850 RSD)

  • Tortelini with roasted celery, local Sremski cheese, walnut and balsamic cream (700 RSD)

I'm a big fan of pasta dishes, and I think I could live on these (yes, I know how unhealthy it is, but I have this crazy luck of not gaining weight while eating those kinds of dishes, so why not use it, whilst my metabolism is fast). Out of these dishes, the dish that left the BIGGEST IMPRESSION (in capital letters!) is Gnudi dumplings with mushrooms, cheese and Serbian truffles. Gnudi is a specialty that is so simple (prepared from cheese rolled in dough and thrown into a pan), so tasty, and if you find yourself in this restaurant, definitely order this dish, then you’ll understand what I'm talking about!

MEAT DISHES
  • Pork ribs in miso with creamy sweet potato and peanuts(1200 RSD)

These dishes have full, rich and defined taste, prepared with plenty of love and patience. And speaking of patience, the winner of this group of dishes is definitely the Ribeye for two, with Hollandaise sauce and truffles/ with carrot. Dry-aged for 40 days (!!!) and afterwards prepared with aromatic herbs and, above all, served with two kinds of sauce, it really deserves to be the winner not only in the group - Meat dishes, but  also the winner of the whole new menu of the Credo restaurant!!

Last year I wrote that I'm not a big fan of sweets, but after visiting Credo I become a big one. I slightly prefer the Credo cheesecake with rose and raspberries. This is the kind of dessert that sweetens and refreshes you at the same time. Just how I like it!
And for the end of this post - all the praise for the staff of the restaurant that is still cordial, and special praise for the new chef! He managed to bring something completely new to the gastronomic scene of Belgrade and I thank him for that!!
