Acapulco

Maj mesec. Mesec koji je sinonim za venčanja. Nije ni previše toplo, ni previše hladno. Idealan period za nezaboravne, romantične trenutke. A kada jedan član Gastro policije staje na ludi kamen, to mora da bude nešto posebno. Nakon više od mesec dana potrage i obilazaka restorana i splavova pala je odluka. Ceremonija venčanja i opšte narodno veselje biće organizovano na splavu Akapulko!

Splav Akapulko smešten je na Dunavskom keju u blizini hotela Jugoslavija. Ovaj splav se striktno bavi organizacijama svih vrsta proslava, tako da je odmah sve mirisalo na čist profesionalizam (za razliku od mnogih restorana koje smo posetili u ovu svrhu). A ja u ulozi kume bila sam i više nego uzbuđena što zbog svadbe što zbog hrane i iskustva koja treba da podelim sa vama. Pa da krenemo redom!

Splav Akapulko - dekoracija

Prostor je jednom rečju - ROMANTIČAN! Beli stolnjaci, ljubičaste mašne (koje možete sami da birate), cveće, detalji poput belih kaveza i svećnjaka učinili su svaki sto posebnim. Osim unutrašnjeg dela, tu je i terasa koja je idealna za fotografisanje. Meni se posebno svidelo što stolovi nisu mnogo udaljeni jedan od drugog, pa se dobija nekako intimnija atmosfera puna topline i ljubavi, a to i jeste cilj venčanja (šta ću, ja sam romantik). Pored savršenog prostora, mladencima se nudi i dolazak na splav gliserom (još jedna romantična stvar koja me je oduševila). Ali da vam sad ne bih prepričavala ceo dan, usredsrediću se na ono najvažije za Gastro policiju - HRANU!

Ovo je prvo venčanje na kojem sam se najela! Hrana je bila fantastična, preukusna, sastojci sveži, a konobari u skladu sa atmosferom - ljubazni, veseli i raspoloženi! Po ceni od 29e po osobi dobijate komletan meni koji se sastoji od hladnog predjela, čorbe, toplog predjela, salate, glavnog jela i naravno neograničene konzumacije alkoholnih i bezalkoholnih pića. Pa da krenem redom! Hladno predjelo je obuhvatalo zaista sve što ja volim - pršut, kulen, kuglice od urnebes salate i kajmaka, razne vrste sireva, masline i čeri paradajz. I sve na tanjiru je bilo prvoklasno. Pravi mali raj za nepce. Naravno osim što je bilo ukusno, sve je bilo i sjajno aranžirano. Nakon predjela na red je došla Teleća ragu čorba i jedna je od boljih koje sam jela po beogradskim restoranima. Pravi domaćinski ukus, što bih ja rekla! Čista desetka! Nakon čorbe red je bio na toplo predjelo - Lazanje. I opet, sjajno! Toplo, sočno i ukusno, zaista bez ijedne zamerke. I ne, nisam subjektivna, zaista je tako! Nakon tri jela, red je došao na glavno jelo koje je obuhvatalo roštilj i pečenje kao i svežu salatu od paradajza i krastavca. Uz praseće i jagnjeće pečenje bio je serviran pekarski krompir, a ukoliko neko nije bio ljubitelj pečenja tu je bilo i mešano meso koje je obuhvatalo ćevapčiće, kobasice i ražnjiće. Moram da priznam da sam se uz prva tri jela već bila valjano najela, tako da sam glavno jelo samo probala, ali svakako utisci su isti kao i za prethodno sa menija.

Mislim da u ovom slučaju nije potrebno da vam naglašavam kakva je bila atmosfera. Mogu vam samo reći da ako ikada budem stala na ludi kamen (a s obzirom da sam uhvatila bidermajer, možda se i to desi uskoro) odlučiću se za splav Akapulko. Jedna zaista uigrana ekipa i profesionalni pristup celoj organizaciji. Mene kao romantika bilo je lako zavesti ovakvim prostorom i pogledom na Dunav, a verujem da nema osobe u kojoj splav Akapulko ne bi probudio one najiskrenije emocije!

Month of May. Month of weddings. Neither too hot nor too cold. The ideal time for the unforgettable, romantic moments. And when one member of the Gastro police decides to tie the knot, it has to be something special. After more than a month of seeking and visiting a lot of restaurants and raft clubs, the decision was made. The wedding ceremony and reception will be organized on the raft club Acapulco!

Raft club Acapulco is located on the Danube quay near the hotel Yugoslavia. This raft club strictly deals with organizing all kinds of celebrations, so from the beginning, everything seemed  professional (unlike in many restaurants we visited for this purpose). And, in the role of the maid of honour, I was more than excited both for the wedding and the food and, also, the experience that needs to be shared with you. So let's begin!

One word that describes this place is - romantic! White tablecloths, purple chair bows (you can choose the color of those), flowers, details such as the white bird cages and candlesticks, made every table unique. In addition to the inner area, there is also a terrace that is ideal for taking photos. I especially liked that the tables are not very far apart, so you get a feeling of an intimate atmosphere, full of warmth and love, and in my opinion, that is the purpose of weddings (what can I do, I’m a hopeless romantic). Besides the perfect ambiance, this restaurant offers the newlyweds a speed boat for their arrival to the raft (one more romantic thing that impressed me). But, I won’t narrate the whole day to you, instead, I will focus on what's most important for Gastro police – THE FOOD!

This is the first wedding that I left without feeling hungry! The food was fantastic, delicious, ingredients were fresh, and the waiters in line with the atmosphere - polite and cheerful! At a cost of 29€ per person you get a complete menu consisting of cold appetizer, soup, hot appetizer, salads, main dish and, of course, unlimited consumption of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. So let's start from the beginning! Cold appetizer included everything I love - prosciutto, kulen(flavoured sausage), Urnebes salad and kaymak scoops, a variety of cheeses, olives and cherry tomatoes. And everything on the plate was first class. A small paradise for the palate. Of course, except of being delicious, everything was nicely arranged. After the appetizer, it was the time for Veal ragout soup and this one was among the better ones I ate in Belgrade restaurants. Like grandma used to make! Top-notch! After the soup came the hot appetizer - lasagna. And again, great! Warm, juicy and tasty, really impeccable. And no, it’s not subjective thinking, it really was like that! After these three dishes came the main dish, which included BBQ and roast, as well as fresh tomato and cucumber salad. Baked potatoes were served with pork and lamb roast , and if someone isn’t a fan of roast, there was a platter of mixed grill which included kebabs, sausages and bbq skewers. Since I was already full after the first three dishes, I must admit that I only took a bite of the main dish, but certainly, the impressions were the same as for the previous dishes from the menu.

I think that in this case there’s no need to emphasize what the atmosphere was like. I can only say that if I ever decide to tie the knot (and since I caught the bouquet, maybe it’ll happen soon) I will choose the raft club Acapulco. A really well-coordinated team and professional approach throughout the organization. And being a hopeless romantic, I was easaly seduced by the ambiance and the Danube view, but I believe that Acapulco would evoke the deepest emotions in every person!

Dobar has kod nas

A sada jedan tekst o mom omiljenom fast food-u! Dobar has kod nas, ili kako ga mi skraćeno zovemo Has je jedan od brendova blokova oko Genexa i koga god da pitate kakva je klopa tamo, svakom će se pre odgovora pojaviti osmeh na licu, pa možete da naslutite kakav će biti.

 Has je mali fast food u okviru koga se nalazi i kafić, gde možete da popijete piće, ili ako ne želite da nosite hranu koju ste naručili, možete tu da sednete i na miru je pojedete. Nalazi se u 38-om bloku, veoma blizu Genex kule, kod stanice 65-ice i na prvi pogled izgleda kao da se ništa ne razlikuje od ostalih fast food-ova. Ne dajte da vas zavara njihov skroman izgled, jer upravo takva mesta nude najbolju hranu.

Has nudi veliki izbor mesa sa roštilja, pa tako ovde možete da pojedete pljeskavicu, što običnu, što gurmansku, ćevape, pileće belo, kobasice, vešalice, kao i tople sendviče, palačinke, itd. Probala sam skoro sve iz njihove ponude i mogu vam reći da je zaista sve super. Kako živim 5 min od Hasa veoma često jedem kod njih, a ovaj put moja najbolja drugarica i ja smo se odlučile za malu pljeskavicu (150 rsd - 100 gr) i šiš ćevap (210 rsd - 180 gr). Počnimo od šiša, koji je bio drugaricin izbor. Ona je veoma probirljiva kad je hrana u pitanju, ali je toliko oduševljena njihovim šišom da često dođe na Novi Beograd samo da bi njega jela, a probala ga je na mnogim mestima, verujte. Često u šali kažem da koliko je nahvalila taj njihov šiš, opušteno bi mogli da joj daju gratis bar jedan mesečno jer im je pokretna reklama. A kad to radi rođena Vračarka koja je veliki lokal-patriota mislim da to zaista dovoljno govori. Kvalitetno i sveže meso u, takođe, svežoj i toploj lepinji, sa velikim izborom priloga po želji, zaista nikog ne može da ostavi ravnodušnim, a još manje gladnim. Sve to važi i za moju pljeskavicu, tako da mogu samo da copy-paste - ujem. Uživanje u hrani nam je upotpunio flaširani Staropramen (0.5l - 120 rsd). Naravno, ono što je mene dovelo do stopostotnog uživanja bila je palačinka sa eurokremom, plazmom i bananom (160 rsd), domaćinska, po mom ukusu.

Ekipa je ovde isključivo lokalna, mada ne bi me uopšte začudilo da se nađe i poneki vanblokovski ''stranac'', poput moje drugarice, koga su osvojili svojim specijalitetima. Fast food, za razliku od kafića, radi 24h, na radost svih nas žitelja pomenutih blokova, pa kad se vraćamo iz kasnog/ranog jutarnjeg izlaska, Has nam dođe kao kec na jedanaest. Neretko je kod njih gužva jer imaju mnogo porudžbina, pa je topla preporuka da ih prvo nazovete telefonom i reći će vam za koliko da dođete, u bilo koje doba dana ili noći. 

Planiram da se preselim već neko vreme i kad to konačno uradim mislim da će mi najteže pasti zbog Hasa, ali sva sreća pa neću biti mnogo daleko, tako da ću i u budućnosti biti njihov redovan konzument.

This post will be about my favorite fast food cafe! Dobar has kod nas (Good food in the hood), or as we call it for short Has, is one of the brands of the blocks surrounding Genex tower and whomever you ask what's the food like there, before answering a smile will appear on each of their faces, so you can already get the picture.

Has is a small fast food cafe, inside you can have a drink, or you can take a seat and eat your food there, if you’re not ordering to go. It’s located in the 38th block, very close to Genex Tower, near the bus station ( bus № 65), at first glance seems to be no different from other fast foods. Don’t be fooled by its modest appearance, it is known that places like these offer the best food. 

Has offers a wide selection of grilled meat, so here you can eat burgers( the usual version or the gourmet one), kebabs, chicken fillets, sausages, pork tenderloin, as well as toasted sandwiches, crepes, etc. I've tried almost all of their dishes, and I can tell you that everything is really great. I often eat here because I live 5 min from Has, and this time my best friend and I chose small burger (150 rsd - 100 g) and shish kebab (210 rsd - 180 gr). Let's start with shish kebab, which was my friend’s choice. She is very picky when it comes to food, but she’s so thrilled with their shish kebab that she often comes to New Belgrade just to eat it, and she tried it in many places, believe me. I often jokingly say that they should give her at least one free kebab per month, because she talks about it and recommends it to everyone. And when that comes from a person who’s born and raised in Vracar Municipality, and is a great local patriot, I think that really speaks for itself. Quality and fresh meat in, also, fresh and warm bun, with a large selection of toppings, it doesn’t leave anyone indifferent, much less hungry. All of this counts for my burger too, so I can only copy-paste everything. We completed enjoying the food with bottled Staropramen beer(0.5l - 120 rsd). Of course, what has led me to one hundred percent enjoyment was a crepe with eurocrem, plazma biscuit and bananas (160 rsd), just like at home, the way I like it.

The guests are mainly local, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find  someone who’s not from the neighborhood, just like my friend, someone who they have won over with their specialties. Fast food, unlike the inside of this cafe, is open for 24 h, fortunately for us residents of the mentioned blocks, so when we’re coming back late from a night out, Has is there for us at the worst possible moment. It is often crowded because they have a lot of orders, I highly recommend that you call them first and they will tell you when to come, at any time of day or night.

I plan to move for some time, and when I finally do that, I think that the hardest thing will be going away from Has, but luckily, I won’t be that far from them, so I’ll be their regular customer in the future as well.

Étage

A sada nešto malo drugačije. Ne, nije u pitanju internacionalna, ni srpska, ni meni omiljena italijanska kuhinja, ovog puta prenosimo utiske o japanskoj kuhinji. Dobrodošli u bar restoran Etage!

Etage je kako bih ga ja opisala zapravo podrestoran čuvenog beogradskog restorana Voulez-vous. Smešten na spratu što mu i samo ime kaže, odiše duhom Voulez-vous. Već dobro poznati fazon Voulez-vous restorana ni ovde ne nedostaje. Doduše iako su veoma slični meni se za nijansu više sviđa Etage što zbog preudobnih fotelja, što zbog samog rasporeda stolova. Nekako bih rekla da ovde imate veću širinu. Kada je Voulez-vous uveče prepun dešavalo mi se da ni stolicu ne mogu da izvučem koliko je tesno i krcato. Tako da Etage je što se toga tiče nadmašio Voulez-vous po komforu.

Što se tiče menija baziran je na japanske specijalitete. Međutim ukoliko ste pak navikli na čuvene Voulez-vous specijalitete, njih i ovde možete da poručite. Gastro policija je moramo priznati teško odolela da ne naruči nešto iz menija Voulez-vous-a, ali šta da se radi, posao je posao. Tako da smo se mi ovom prilikom odlučile za jednu od Sushi selekcija. Maki, Nigiri, Sashimi selekcija (1890 rsd) je zapravo Japan u malom. Sastoji se od 3 tuna spicy maki rolls, 3 losos avokado maki rolls, 2 losos nigiri, 2 gambori nigiri, 3 tuna sašimi i 3 losos sašimi, i iako nisam neki fan japanske kuhinje, ovim sam bila i više nego oduševljena. Te boje na tanjiru prosto su me opčinile, tako da kada je japanska kuhinja u pitanju ja je više doživljavam kao neku vizuelnu vrstu umetnosti. Međutim, drugi član Gastro policije koji je zaista ogroman zaljubljenik u japansku kuhinju bio je prezadovoljan ukusom. Skoro pa da sam mogla drugarici da vidim srca u očima. Dakle, i Etage je zadrzao nivo ukusa na koji smo navikle u Voules-vous restoranu.

Nakon Sushi selekcije, red je došao na desert. Ja sam se ovog puta odlučila za nejapanski specijalitet -Cosmopolitan kolač (390 rsd), a drugarica je i kada je desert u pitanju ostala verna Sušiju te se odlučila za Slatki sushi (290 rsd). Moj kolač je kao što i u opisu piše bio savršen spoj musa od belgijske mlečne čokolade, chantilly krema i svežih malina. Ali bez obzira na odličan ukus, nisam uspela ceo da pojedem. Slatki suši sa bananom, nutelom i malinama je izgledao perfektno na oko, a po minutaži za koju je moja drugarica pojela 4 slatka sušija mogla sam samo da zaključim da je i ukus bio i više nego savršen. Na kraju smo deserte dodatno zasladile sa po jednim Pina Coladom (390 rsd). Pa nek ide život!

Ukoliko se odlučite da svratite do ovog bar restorana, moj savet vam je da ipak rezervišete sto, jer ćete uveče izuzetno teško dobiti sto, s obzirom da restoran Etage organizuje i muzičke večeri. Tip gostiju je raznolik, kao uostalom i u Voulez-vous restoranu, mogu se sresti ljudi svih generacija, ali ipak prednjače tridesetogodišnjaci. Gastro policija je još jedne nedelje uživala u novim ukusima, a vi ukoliko želite da okusite nešto malo drugačije, naše tople preporuke su Etage.

And this time, something different. No, it's not international, nor Serbian, nor my favorite Italian cuisine, this time we write about our impressions of Japanese cuisine. Welcome to the bar restaurant Etage!

Etage is actually a sister restaurant of the famous Belgrade restaurant Voulez-vous. It’s located on the first floor, as its name indicates, and it carries the spirit of Voulez-vous. It doesn’t lack the already well-known style of Voulez-vous restaurant. However, although they are very similar, I like Etage a bit more both because of comfortable chairs, and the seating arrangements. I think that , somehow, you get more space here. When Voulez-vous is full in the evening, sometimes I couldn’t even move my chair, because it was so crowded. So, speaking of comfort, Etage surpassed Voulez-vous.

As for the menu, it is based on Japanese specialties. However, if you are prefer the famous Voulez-vous specialties, you can order them here as well. We must admit, Gastro police hardly resisted not to order something from the Voulez-vous, but alas, business is business. So on this occasion, we chose one of the Sushi selections. Maki, Nigiri, Sashimi selection (1890 rsd) is actually Japan on a plate. It consists of 3 tuna spicy maki rolls, 3 salmon avocado maki rolls, 2 salmon nigiri, 2 prawns nigiri, 3 tuna sashimi and 3 salmon sashimi, and although I'm not a big fan of Japanese cuisine, I was more than thrilled by this. I was fascinated by the colors on the plate, so when it comes to Japanese cuisine, I consider it more as a type of visual art. However, the other member of Gastro police, who is a huge fan of Japanese cuisine, was very satisfied with the taste. I could almost see the hearts instead of pupils in my friend’s eyes. So, as for the quality, Etage kept the same level of taste like Voulez-vous restaurant.

After the Sushi selection came time for dessert. This time, I decided for non-Japanese desert -Cosmopolitan cake (390 rsd), and my friend remained faithful to sushi and she ordered Sweet sushi (290 rsd). My cake, as it says in the description, was a perfect blend of Belgian milk chocolate mousse, chantilly cream and fresh raspberries. But despite the great taste of it, I didn’t manage to eat it whole. Sweet sushi with bananas, Nutella and raspberries seemed visually perfect, and by the time that my friend needed to eat 4 sweet sushi, I could only conclude that the taste was more than perfect. Finally, we sweetened our desserts with Pina Coladas (390 rsd). You only live once!

If you decide to visit this bar restaurant, my advice is to book a table, given that Etage restaurant organizes gigs on some evenings, and it’s extremelly difficult to get a table in that case. Type of guests varies, as well as in Voulez-vous restaurant, you can find people of all ages, but still thirty year olds are in majority. So another week passed, Gastro police enjoyed new flavors and if you want to taste something a little different, we heartly recommend Etage.

Papalada

Kao velikog ljubitelja morskih plodova, veoma me je obradovalo kada sam prošle godine šetala Francuskom ulicom i ugledala natpis Papalada - fish and mediterranean food. Istog trena ovaj restoran se našao na spisku mesta koje Gastro policija mora da obiđe.

 Ono što me je, između ostalog, još ovde privuklo je to što su malo zavučeni u Francuskoj ulici, pa kad ste tamo imate osećaj privatnosti, što mi ide uz raspoloženje kad uživam u morskim plodovima. 

Enterijer je veoma lepo uređen, sa ukusom, pa pored drvenih stolova i stolica, na zidu ćete videti zanimljive detalje kao što su sidro, guma za spasavanje, veslo, brodići, itd. Jako lep ambijent koji će vam dočarati morsku atmosferu.

 Izbor hrane za mene nije bio nimalo lak, jer ja zaista obožavam sve iz mora i sve mogu da jedem, samo su nijanse odlučivale. Kako dugo nisam jela lignje, izbor je prvo pao na punjene. Kad je došao konobar, koji je zaista bio preljubazan, rekao mi je da njih trenutno nemaju, već samo jadranske, ali kako su one skuplje jer idu po gramaži i rekao mi je otprilike cenu. Rekla sam da to nije problem, međutim, malo konfuzno mi je objasnio kako su ih tako i neki stranci uzeli ali je bilo nesporazuma oko cene i sl. Nije mi baš najjasnije objasnio, ali kao da je nekako želeo da me odgovori od lignji, a kako sam pravo sa posla došla tamo bila sam baš gladna da bih se ubeđivala i ipak sam naručila hobotnicu na žaru (1850 rsd). Verujem da je imao najbolju nameru, samo to nije lepo prezentovao, ali ne zameram mu, jer me je hobotnica oduševila. Ukusna, hrskava, u dovoljnoj količini, sa ukusnim dalmatinskim varivom, bilo je baš ono što mi treba posle radnog dana. Za razliku od mene, drugarica tog dana nije bila u morskom raspoloženju, tako da je ona uzela pileći file (850 rsd) sa krompirom i grilovanim povrćem. Za njeno jelo nemam ništa specijalno da izdvojim, ukusno i lepo pripremljeno, kao i na većini mesta. Uz ručak smo pijuckale coca-colu zero (220 rsd), a posle ručka smo ćaskale uz espresso (140 rsd) i ness kafu (160 rsd). Da ne zaboravim da napomenem da smo pre naručenih jela bile poslužene kuverom, koji se sastojao od ukusnih, svežih hlepčića i riblje paštete sa maslinom, lukom i paradajzom, koji nam je samo otvorio apetit i pojačao želju za glavnim jelom.

 Taj dan, kad smo mi bile, pored nas, bilo je malo gostiju, za jos par stolova, i mlađih i starijih, ali pretpostavljam da ovde primarno dolaze ljubitelji morskih specijaliteta. Ako ste i vi među njima, imate moje preporuke da ih posetite, a ovom prilikom apelujem na menadžment da, ako mogu, u svoj jelovnik ubace i jastoga, obećavam da ću im biti među prvim gostima koji će ga komzumirati.

Last year, while I was taking a walk down Francuska Street, I was very pleased when I saw the sign Papalada-fish and mediterranean food, since I am a big fan of seafood. Instantly, this restaurant was on the list of places that Gastro police must visit.

I was immediately drawn by the fact that this restaurant is a bit tucked away in Francuska Street, so you have a sense of privacy when you are there, and that fits my mood while enjoying seafood.


The interior is very nicely and tastefully decorated, and in addition to wooden tables and chairs, there are interesting details on the wall such as the anchor, rubber life ring, paddle, boats etc. Lovely ambiance that makes you feel like you’re somewhere near the sea.

Choosing the food wasn’t easy for me, because I really love everything that comes from the sea and I can eat it all, I made the decision by the nuances among the dishes. As I haven’t had squid for a long time, I wanted to order Stuffed squid. When the waiter came, btw he was really polite, he told me that in the moment they don’t have these squids, that they only have the Adriatic squids, but that they are more expensive because you order them after the grammage and he told me the approximate price. I said that its’not a problem, however, he confusingly explained to me that some foreigners ordered these squid and there was a misunderstanding about the price when they were paying. I didn’t understand him completely, but it seemed as if he somehow wanted to talk me out of ordering the squids, and since I came there straight from work, I was very hungry so I didn’t have the strength to talk so, in the end, I ordered Grilled octopus (1850 rsd). I believe that he had the best intentions, but didn’t  present it nicely, but I do not blame him, because I was thrilled with the octopus. Delicious, crispy, sufficient in quantity, with delicious Dalmatian stewed vegetables, it was just what I needed after a long day. Unlike me, my friend wasn’t in the mood for seafood, so she ordered the Chicken fillet (850 rsd) with potatoes and grilled vegetables. For that dish, I have nothing special to say, delicious and beautifully prepared, as in most restaurants. During lunch we sipped Coca-cola Zero (220 rsd), and after lunch we chatted while drinking Espresso (140 rsd) and Nescaffe (160 rsd). Not to forget to mention that, before our ordered dishes, they served us the couver, which consisted of delicious, fresh buns and fish pate with olives, onions and tomatoes, which whetted our appetite and enhanced our desire for the main course.

That day, when we visited this restaurant, there wasn’t a lot of guests, a few more tables besides ours, both younger and older people, but I believe that seafood fans primarily come here. If you are among them, you have my recommendation to visit them, and I’m using this occasion to say to the management to include lobster in their menu, if they can, I promise I'll be among the first guests who will try it.
