Boss - Subotica

Vodimo vas opet u, nama veoma dragu, Vojvodinu! Ovog puta smo posetili prelepu Suboticu. Ako ste gurman i ako držite do kvaliteta, sigurno ste prilikom boravka u navedenom gradu svratili u Boss.

Kad smo pitale Subotičane koje bi nam mesto preporučili, gde možemo da pojedemo ukusan obrok i solidne porcije, jednoglasno su nas uputili u ovaj restoran.  Boss je prvobitno bila picerija, a uvođenjem novih i kvalitetnih jela prostor restorana se širio, pa tako se nalaze i preko puta ulice, poznatiji kao Fashion. Kada je lepo vreme, logičan izbor je terasa. 

Enterijer je veoma lepo uređen, spoj starog i novog. Cigla, kamin, slike sa renesansnim motivima i zanimljive skulpture su sve ono što će upotpuniti ugođaj dok razmišljate šta ćete odabrati iz zanimljivog i bogatog menija. Dok sedite na terasi uživanje će biti podjednako, jer ste okruženi drvećem, cvećem i lepim građevinama.

Ovo je restoran čiji jelovnik nam je možda zadao najviše muka. Veoma veliki izbor zanimljivih, internacionalnih jela (sa akcentom na italijansku kuhinju), a posebno je interesantno što je sve raspoređeno po kategorijama, što može dosta da vam olakša pri izboru. Većina jela postoji u obliku male i velike porcije, a kod nekih jela ima i XL porcija. Već vam je krenula voda na usta? Znam, i meni je, kad se setim.

Posle mnooogooo oklevanja i neodlučnosti, naručile smo Salatu od morskih plodova (RSD 1360), Punjeni svinjski file (RSD 940), Chicken taco rolls (RSD 765), Pileći file sa biberom (RSD 825) i Salatu Giardino (RSD 310). 

Salata od morskih plodova je pravo osveženje za ove tople, letnje dane.  Pored toga što je ukusna, bila je veoma lepo i servirana, kao i sva ostala jela. Ražnjići lososa, tunjevina sa susamom, račići, uz marinirane školjke, lignje i hobotnicu je bukvalno more u tanjiru, baš za prave ljubitelje ovih specijaliteta. Sve to ne bi bilo to bez miksa svežih salata, meni omiljene rukole, cherry paradajza, krastavca i šargarepe, uz nezaobilazni susam. Moja očekivanja su ispunili, a veliki sam fan svega iz vode.

Punjeni svinjski file je kao stvoren za mnogo gladne, kojima je neophodna nadoknada energije. Čini ga grilovani svinjski file punjen kajmakom sa začinskim biljem, rolovan sa pančetom i preliven topljenim kajmakom na krutonu sa sotiranim spanaćem. Uz njega se služi i fišek domaćeg prženog, začinjenog krompira i focaccia hleb. Spoj kajmaka i pančete će uvek biti nešto čemu nijedan gurman ne može da odoli, pa zaboravite na kalorije kada ovde dolazite. Možda je neodgovorno da kažemo da su one samo broj, ali zato je uživanje u ovom specijalitetu neprocenjivo, tako da se vredi prepustiti.

Chicken taco rolls odlično dođe ljubiteljima meksičke kuhinje. Sastoji se od dve tortilje punjene autentičnim meksičkim nadevom od pilećeg mesa. Uz nju se servira spicy wedges krompir, salata, kiseli sos i guacamole dip. Veoma ukusna kombinacija, posle koje vam ni najmanje neće biti žao ako ste prekršili dijetu.

Pileći file sa biberom je takođe jelo koje bih svakom preporučila. Biber je, što se mene tiče, kralj među začinima, tako da njegovo prisustvo u najvećem broju slučajeva može da izazove samo zadovoljstvo, pogotovo kada preliv ovog kraljevskog sastojka ukombinujete sa mariniranim grilovanim pilećim fileom. Kad se uz to dodaju i riža sa povrćem, pomfrit i zelena salata, možemo samo da kažemo da je ovo jelo pun pogodak.

Kao veliki ljubitelji salate, uzele smo i Giardino salatu, kombinaciju paradajza, krastavca, rukole i crnih maslina. Osvežavajuće i ukusno.

Sve smo uzele velike porcije i svima je, bar malo, ostalo u tanjiru. Bez obzira što su sva jela preukusna, ipak velike porcije prevazilaze naše kapacitete. Cene su i više nego pristupačne, dobijete i više nego dovoljno, pa je ovde odnos cena-kvalitet bolji nego i u mnogim beogradskim restoranima. Ono što me posebno raduje je što imaju vina vinarije Zvonko Bogdan, tako da sam mogla svaki put da uživam u čaši mog omiljenog crnog vina Život teče (RSD 370).

U Boss-u je uvek gužva. Posetile smo ih par puta i svaki put smo morale da čekamo da se oslobodi neki sto. I pored toga što su se proširili, uvek se traži mesto više, tako da su počeli da rade i dostavu, pa možete da uživate u njihovim specijalitetima i u kućnoj varijanti. Pored dostave, rade i ketering.

Što se gostiju tiče, mislim da ovde dolazi cela Subotica, kao i svi turisti. Usluga je veoma dobra, ovo je restoran u kojoj ne postoji reč neljubazno, a profesionalnost konobara je na najvišem nivou.

We are taking you to Vojvodina again, the very dear area to us! This time we visited beautiful Subotica. If you are a gourmet and if you require the quality, you must have visited the restaurant Boss, while staying in the mentioned town.

When we asked the people of Subotica which restaurant they would recommend us, to have a tasty and solid meal, they unanimously sent us to this restaurant. Boss was initially a pizzeria, but by introducing new, quality dishes on the menu, the restaurant extended, so they also have an area across the street, better known as Fashion. When the weather is nice, the logical choice is to sit on the terrace.

The interior is very nicely decorated, the combination of traditional and modern. Brick, fireplace, paintings with Renaissance motifs and interesting sculptures are the things that will complement your staying, while you think about what you will choose from the interesting and rich menu. You’ll also enjoy sitting on the terrace, surrounded by trees, flowers and magnificent buildings.

This is the restaurant whose menu was the hardest to choose from. The very large selection of interesting, international dishes (with emphasis on Italian cuisine), and it’s especially interesting that everything is sorted by categories, which can make it a lot easier for you to choose. They offer most of the dishes in small and large portions, and for some dishes there’s also XL portion. Are your mouth watering already? I know, mine were, too.

After a lot of thinking and hesitance, we ordered Seafood salad (RSD 1360), Stuffed pork fillet (RSD 940), Chicken taco rolls (RSD 765), Chicken fillet in pepper sauce (RSD 825) and Giardino salad (RSD 310).

Seafood salad is the right kind of refreshment for these hot summer days. In addition to being tasty, it was nicely served, as were the other dishes. Salmon skewers, sesame seared tuna, shrimps, marinated mussels, calamari and octopus, literally, sea on the plate, the right thing for the true lovers of these specialties. All this wouldn’t be perfect without a mix of fresh salads, my favorite rocket salad, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots, with unavoidable sesame seeds. My expectations were fulfilled, and I'm a big fan of seafood.

Stuffed pork fillet is a perfect choice for a very hungry person, requiring energy compensation. It consists of grilled pork fillet stuffed with cream cheese and herbs, rolled with pancetta and topped with melted cream cheese on crouton with sauteed spinach. It is served with fried homemade chips of spiced potatoes and focaccia bread. The combination of cream cheese and pancetta will always be something that no gourmet can resist, so forget about the calories when you come here. It may be irresponsible to say that they are only a number, but that's why the enjoying this specialty is invaluable, so it's worth it.

Chicken taco rolls are great for Mexican cuisine lovers. This dish consists of two tortillas stuffed with authentic Mexican chicken meat stuffing. It is served with spicy potato wedges, salad, sour sauce and guacamole dip. It’s a very tasty combination, you won’t be sorry if you broke your diet because of it.

Chicken fillet in pepper sauce is also a dish that I would recommend to everyone. In my opinion, pepper is the king among spices, so its presence, in most cases, can only cause satisfaction, especially when you combine the sauce made out of this royal ingredient with marinated grilled chicken fillet. When you add rice with vegetables, french fries and lettuce to all that, we can only say that this dish hit the bull’s eye.

As big salad lovers, we also ordered Giardino salad, a combination of tomato, cucumber, rocket salad and black olives. Refreshing and tasty.

We all ordered larger portions and in everyone’s plate there was some food left. Even though the dishes were delicious, the larger portions exceed our capacities. The prices are more than affordable, you get more than enough, so the price-quality ratio is even better than in many Belgrade restaurants. The particular thing that makes me happy is that they offer wines of the Zvonko Bogdan winery, so I enjoyed the glass of my favorite red wine Zivot tece(Life flows) (RSD 370), every time.

Boss is always full of people. We visited them a couple of times and every time we had to wait for a table. Despite the resturant being expanded, there’s always a need for more tables, so they started to deliver their food, as well, so you can enjoy their specialties at home. In addition to the delivery, they also cater.

As for the guests, I think that the whole Subotica comes here, as well as all the tourists. The service is very good, in this restaurant you won’t hear the word inpolite, and the professionalism of the waiters is at the highest level.

If you want to feel the spirit of Italy in Subotica, Boss will show provide it in the best possible way.

Pasta Ricco

U centru grada, u ulici Braće Jugovića, primetila sam još jedan italijanski fast food. Paste su u Beogradu izgleda postale ili mnogo popularne ili se svi vode politikom da je to najlakše i najbrže za spremiti. Upoznajmo se sa fast food-om Pasta Ricco.

Iako je smešten na sjajnoj lokaciji, moram da primetim da ovde apsololutno nikada nisam primetila gužvu, a vrlo često prolazim ovuda. Ipak to me nije sprečilo da isprobam ukuse ovih pasti, jer nikad se ne zna. Sam enterijer je simparičan, sa par detalja koji bi mogli da vas asociraju na italijansku kuhinju, ali ništa originalnije u odnosu na ostala mesta ovog tipa. Nisam neki preterani fan metalnih barskih stolica, ali vidim da su one postale jedan od neizostavnih komada nameštaja po restoranima.

Kada sam bacila pogled na meni, za oko mi je zapalo da nema Paste Milanese, jedne od must have pasti. Osim toga za drugo oko su mi zapale cene koje uopšte nisu niske s obzirom da sam se ipak našla u fast food-u, a ne u italijanskom restoranu. Na ovakvim mestima cena pasti ne bi trebalo da prelazi cifru od RSD 350 što ovde nije slučaj, te u Pasta Ricco možete da naručite i pastu koja će vas koštati i do RSD 550. Mi smo se odlučile za Pastu Carbonaru i Pastu Vegetarianu. Pasta Carbonara (RSD 380) kao i u većini italijanskih restorana nije bila spremljena po originalnoj italijanskoj recepturi. Pasta Vegetariana (RSD 230) je bila nedovoljno začinjena, ali za ove pare je zasitila glad sasvim korektno. Porcije su zaista ogromne, gramaže od 500 g, i pakovanje je jedno od detalja po kojima se razlikuju od ostalih fast food-ova ovog tipa. Sama ocena celokupnog užitka bila bi neka malo jača trojka.

S obzirom da je mesto skoro uvek prazno, sam osećaj dok sedite tamo malo je neprijatan. Naravno kuhinja je odmah iza vas tako da možete da posmatrate kuvara dok vam priprema pastu, što i nije tako loše jer možete da bacite pogled na sastojke koji se koriste u spremanju vašeg jela.

Ukoliko ste ljubitelj pasti, a niste preterano sitničavi, a želite na brzaka da utolite glas, Pasta Ricco bi mogao da bude jedna od opcija u tu svrhu.

In the city center, in Brace Jugovic Street, I came across another Italian fast food restaurant. It’s obvious that pastas have become very popular in Belgrade, or everyone is thinking that it’s the easiest and quickest thing to cook. Let me introduce you to the fast food restaurant Pasta Ricco.

Although the location of this fast food restaurant is great, I must say that I’ve never seen a lot of people here, and I pass by it very often. However, that didn’t scare me off, because if you never try, you’ll never know. The interior is nice, with a few details that could remind you of Italian cuisine, but nothing more original than other restaurants of this type. I'm not a big fan of metal bar stools, but I see that they’ve become one of the most used furniture pieces in restaurants.

When I looked at the menu, it caught my eye that they don’t have Pasta Milanese, one of the must have pasta dishes. Besides that, another thing that caught my eye are the higher prices, which is a bit odd to me considering I found myself in the fast food and not in the Italian restaurant. In these places, the price of the dishes should not exceed a figure of RSD 350, which is not the case here, so in Pasta Ricco you can order a pasta that will cost you up to RSD 550. We chose Pasta Carbonara and Pasta Vegetariana. Pasta Carbonara (RSD 380), as in most Italian restaurants here, wasn’t cooked by the original Italian recipe. Pasta Vegetariana (RSD 230) was a bit blend, but for that price it was more than fair. The portions are really huge, 500 g, and they serve it in a different container than the other fast food restaurants of this type. For the overall impression, I would give them a C+.

Since the place is almost always empty, it’s a bit awkward sitting there. Of course, the kitchen is right behind you, so you can watch the cook prepare your pasta, which is not so bad as you can see which ingredients they’re using for your dish.

If you’re a fan of pasta dishes, and you’re not too picky, and if you just want to sate your hunger fast, Pasta Ricco could be one of the best options for that.

Central Pub

Pre nešto više od 6 meseci, Beograd je dobio novo kultno mesto koje morate da posetite! Reč je, naravno, o Central pub-u! Smešten je na mestu nekadašnjeg Perpera, u blizini Merkatora, u delu Novog Beograda koji je poznat po kafićima i restoranima.

Ne možete da promašite ovo mesto, ako se uputite ka njemu. Veliki natpis, konstrukcija od cigle i lepa i prostrana bašta, kad vremenski uslovi dozvoljavaju, već vas na prvi pogled mame da sednete ovde.

Enterijer će vas, takođe, osvojiti. Veliki prostor, mnogo drvenih stolova, kako običnih, tako i barskih, čine prvi preduslov svakog dobrog paba. Ovde bih se osvrnula na rečenicu koju je moja draga drugarica pomenula u jednom svom tekstu, a to je da se danas svakakva mesta nazivaju pabom. Central pub je pokazao da je i više nego na visini zadatka. Pored već pomenutog preduslova, unutrašnjost krasi i veliki šank, sa raznovrsnim izborom pića. Pored njega, postoji i drugi, kružni šank u centralnom delu paba. Tu je i bina, na kojoj većinu dana u nedelji nastupaju raznorazni izvođači, a u danima kad nema svirke krasi je Harley Davidson, što opet daje šmek koji pab treba da ima. Da bi svi bili zadovoljni, postoji i pušački i nepušački deo, koji ovde nije zanemarljiv, tako da se ovde vodi računa o svačijim potrebama i afinitetima.

Dolazimo sad do onog glavnog što pab zaista čini pabom, a to je izbor piva. Ni ovde ne zaostaju, jer je ponuda piva veoma velika, što točenih, što flaširanih. Svetla, tamna, mutna, sa velikim procentom alkohola, svako ovde može da nađe nešto što mu odgovara (sem jednog člana Gastro policije, kome je omiljeno pivo Grimbergen). Odmah bih se osvrnula i na uslugu. Pab je, ako mene pitate, mesto na kom ćete se pored uživanja u omiljenom pivu, osetiti i kao svoj na svome, što se kaže. To, svakako, nije moguće, bez osoblja koje će vam to omogućiti. Osoblje Central pub-a je baš takvo - ljubazno, srdačno, uvek na usluzi. Već nakon par dolazaka osetićete se kao da imate svog konobara/konobaricu i vremenom ćete imati utisak da ste svratili kod drugara na pivo.

Jelovnikom, kao i izborom piva, mogu da se pohvale. U ponudi imaju sve što mesto ovakvog tipa treba da ima: burgere, kobasice, hot dogove, specijalitete kuće, kao i ponudu doručka. Cene su osrednje, kao i na većini mesta ovog tipa. Možemo da se pohvalimo da smo probale sve burgere, pa počnimo od njih. Ono što je karakteristično za sve je da su baš velike porcije i da ih cena potpuno opravdava. Sveže juneće meso u uvek svežim lepinjama, sa različitim dodacima u skladu sa tim šta preferirate, su nešto što će uvek utoliti vašu glad. Beef burger Central (RSD 810) je pravi izbor ako ste mnogo gladni. Dva juneća burgera koji kao dodatak imaju preprženu slaninu, spremljeni sa kikiriki putrerom, uz salate, čedar sir i vedžis krompir, zadovoljiće i najzahtevnije goste. Italijanski burger (RSD 720) ništa ne zaostaje za prethodnim, tako da u kombinaciji sa jajetom i rukolom teško da ćete u nekom skorijem periodu osetiti glad. Chilli burger (RSD 720), što mu i samo ime kaže, karakteriše chilli sos od habanero paprika, halapenjo paprike, kao i miks salata. Nećete pogrešiti ni ako se odlučite za Regular burger (RSD 690), koji je malo "skromnijeg" sastava: ajzberg, kiseli krastavci, čedar sir i majonez. Uz sve burgere kao prilog se služi pomfrit, pohovani kolutići luka, kao i uvek dva sosa iznenađenja.

Ako vam apetiti ipak nisu toliki, uvek možete da odabere odličnu Biftek salatu (RSD 740). Kombinacija junećeg filea sa miksom ajzberga, uz meni omiljenu rukolu, čeri paradajz i crvenu papriku, sa balzamiko dresingom je sve ono što očekujem od jedne obrok salate. Kad su ovako topli dani, ona mi je uglavnom prvi izbor jer ima osvežavajuću notu.

Od specijaliteta kuće probale smo Pileće štapiće u Paulaner pivu (RSD 490), što je i logično, s obzirom da mi je Paulaner omiljeno pivo. Ovo jelo sastoji se od pohovanog pilećeg belog mesa u pivu, sa već pomenutim kolutovima luka i pomfritom. Kao i prethodna jela i ovo možemo da vam preporučimo.

Jelo koje mi je ovde omiljeno je definitivno Feta u susamu (RSD 270 ). Dva komada pohovane fete sa prelivom od senfa, pomorandže i meda su nešto što veoma često "prezalogajim" kad svratim "samo" na pivo, ali i kad mi je vreme za ručak. Kombinacija sira i meda, uz nezaobilazni susam je praznik za moje čulo ukusa.

Pored uživanja u hrani i pivu, bilo bi šteta ne posetiti Central pub i kad imaju svirke. Pregršt izvođača, sa dobrim izborom pesama, koji prave odličnu atmosferu će vam objasniti zašto je ovde skoro uvek svaki sto rezervisan i veoma teško može samo da se "bane". 
 
Zvuči previše dobro da bi bilo stvarno, zar ne? Ako nam ne verujete, posetite ih i uverite se lično, svojim čulima, a ukoliko ste ljubitelj fudbala, ne morate da idete u Rusiju da pratite svetsko prvenstvo, dovoljno je da posetite Central pub i dočekaće vas navijačka atmosfera kao da ste na tribinama.

Just over 6 months ago, Belgrade got a new cult place that you have to visit! Of course, it's the Central Pub! Before, that was the location of the restaurant Perper, it is near Mercator Mall, in the part of New Belgrade, which is famous for its cafes and restaurants.

There is no way you can miss this place while walking by. The large restaurant sign, the brick construction, and the beautiful and spacious garden, very alluring at first glance.

Interior will also amaze you. A large area, many wooden tables, both ordinary and bar tables, are the first precondition for every good pub. Here I would refer to the sentence that my dear friend mentioned in one of her posts, which is that today many places are unjustly referred to as pubs. The Central pub justified its name. In addition to the aforementioned precondition, the interior is adorned with a large bar, with a wide selection of drinks. Besides it, there is another, circular bar in the central part of the pub. There is also a stage where many performers perform most days of the week, and in the days when there is no gig, on that stage you can find Harley Davidson, which again gives the pub vibes that every pub should have. For everyone to be satisfied, there are both a smoking and non-smoking area, which is very appropriate, so this pub looks after everyone's needs and affinities.

We come to the main thing, the most important thing for a pub, and that is the choice of beer. Their selection of beer is very large, both of the draught and bottled ones. Light, dark, wheat, with a high percentage of alcohol, everyone can find something for them here (except of one member of the Gastro police, whose favorite beer is Grimbergen). I would also like to write something about the service. If you ask me, a pub is a place where you will enjoy yourself while drinking your favorite beer. This, of course, wouldn’t be possible without the staff that will make it possible. The staff of the Central Pub is just right for that role - polite, kind, always at your service. After a couple of visits you will feel as if you have your personal waiter / waitress and in time you will have the impression that you stopped by to have beer with a friend of yours. 

And like with their selection of beer, they can brag about the menu as well. They offer everything that the place of this type should offer: burgers, sausages, hot dogs, specialties of the house, as well as the breakfast offer. Prices are average, like in most places of this type. We can say that we have tried all the burgers, so let's start with them. What is significant about them is that the portions are very large and that the price is fully justified. Fresh beef meat, fresh buns, with various ingredients according to your preference, all these will always help in satisfying your hunger. Beef burger Central (RSD 810) is the right choice if you are very hungry. Two beef burgers with crispy bacon, peanut butter, salads, cheddar cheese and potato wedges, this will satisfy even the most demanding guests. Italian burger (RSD 720) doesn’t lag behind the previous one, so after the combination of burger with egg and rocket salad, you won’t feel hungry for a fair amount of time. Chili burger (RSD 720), as its name says, comes with the habanero and jalapeno peppers sauce, and a mix of salads. You won’t make mistake even if you choose the Regular burger (RSD 690), which is a bit "modest" when it comes to the ingredients: iceberg salad, pickles, cheddar cheese and mayonnaise. Fries, onion rings and two random sauces are served with every burger.

If you don’t have a big appetite, you can always choose the excellent Steak Salad (RSD 740). The combination of beef steak with a mix of iceberg salad, along with my favorite rocket salad, cherry tomato and red bell pepper, with balsamic vinaigrette, is all I expect from a meal salad. On hot days like these, it is mostly my first choice because it’s very refreshing.

As for the house specialties, we tried Paulaner beer battered chicken strips (RSD 490), which is logical, since Paulaner is my favorite beer. This dish consists of fried beer battered chicken fillet, with already  mentioned onion rings and French fries. And like the previous dishes, we also recommend this one.

Definitely, my favorite dish here is Fried Feta cheese with sesame (RSD 270). Two pieces of fried Feta with  mustard, orange and honey dressing, that’s something that I snack very often when I come "just" for beer, but also when it's time for lunch. The combination of cheese and honey, along with the unavoidable sesame, is heaven for my palate.

In addition to enjoying food and beer, it would be a pity not visit one of the gigs organized by the Central Pub. A lot of performers, good songs selection, great atmosphere, that explains why every table is almost always booked and why it is very difficult to just "pop in".

Sounds too good to be true, does it? If you don’t believe us, visit this place and see for yourself, and if you are a fan of football/soccer, you don’t need to go to Russia to follow FIFA World Cup, it's enough to visit the Central pub and you’ll feel as if you are a fan on the stadium stands.
